Follow along with all the action on the first full day of the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham
After a spectacular opening ceremony to the Commonwealth Games 2022 last night, today is the first full day of sport and we’ll be following along with all the action on this live blog. There is certainly no cautious toe dip into the competition, as today will see 33 events across 14 different sports.
We’ll also bring you updates on the incredible ‘Raging Bull’ which has found a new home in Centenary Square – much to the delight of fans. Have you seen it yet?
In the sporting world today we have the triathlon at Sutton Park, and there’s also hockey, rugby sevens, badminton and gymnastics at 9am. Rounding off the day at 7:30pm will be both the regular and wheelchair basketball.
England’s best hope today is Georgia Taylor-Brown, who hopes to beat rival and Olympic champion Flora Duffy from Bermuda in the triathlon at Sutton Park. Duffy pipped her to the post last Olympics but could the home crowd work in Georgia’s favour today?
To catch all the sport on TV, you can tune into BBC One between 9:15am and 1pm for coverage of all the morning’s best events.
